"Heya Girls!"
“36 degrees and it will get even hotter...” This song lives in my head rent-free at the moment. But as fun as it may be – it truly is hot right now! And with the summer slump looming, the options for entertaining ways to cool off are slowly becoming scarce. So it's a good thing that a few fine establishments have taken pity on us heat-sufferers: If you want to freshen up your summer wardrobe before you go on holiday, head straight to NFive on Neubaugasse. They are currently offering up to 40% off shirt dresses with a lemon print, breezy majolica-look blouses and relaxed wide-leg trousers. Mid-century treasure trove Vintagerie (photo) is doing the same thing, but in a different way, with cocktail chairs, mirrors and 60s lamps at up to 40% off. You can then pick up a matching hand-tufted rug at Atelier Fleck's open studio. There are natural clothing, paper handbags and Japanese-inspired accessories to discover there.
Wishing you a haul-rich week,
Your CitySpotterGirl

Dyeing with indigo plants
Today you have the chance to experience a once in a blue moon wonder at a special workshop! Together with artist Anita Bauer, interested people can learn how to dye with the tropical indigo plant. The colourful butterfly flowers are harvested directly from the field before being processed in the outdoor dyeing laboratory. There, the plants are experimented with and various extraction methods are used to obtain different shades of blue from the pigments. Everyone will then colour their own cotton and silk pieces as they wish. The photo serves as visual sample!
Meeting point: Kleine Stadtfarm, Neufahrtweg 14a, 1220 Vienna. 11 July 16:00. 60 €. Please sign up. Web

Gustav Klimt Birthday Party
Austria's artist of the century Gustav Klimt celebrates his birthday! He would have been 162 years old today. The perfect day to pay a visit to his last address in Hietzing. If you like, you can visit his reconstructed studio or listen to a short introduction about the history of the house. An art market makes Klimt's salon shine and after enjoying the culture, you can indulge in cake in the shade of honourable chestnut trees in the in-house garden café. You can read more about Sunday fun at the Klimt Villa in CitySpotterGirl's new book “Sonntag in Wien”!

Freak out Party
Who says you can only party on Fridays and Saturdays? Well, probably most club opening times... Fortunately, there are exceptions, such as the iconic nightclub Cabaret Fledermaus! Every Sunday, dancing queens and dancefloor kings have the opportunity to take a trip back to the 60s and 70s. You can dance the night away to the greatest hits of the Doors, Stones, Beatles, Who and Small Faces, or rock out to the sounds of Led Zeppelin, Cream and Jethro Tull. Best of all, admission is free from 21:00 to 22:00 and the tequila is just as cheap as back then!

Sundowner at MQ Libelle
Summertime is rooftop time! Fortunately, our favourite city has quite a number of wonderful culinary gems with a view of the sky to offer – so many, in fact, that you could actually lose track of them all. So here's a hot tip for you: at the MQ Libelle, you can marvel at the sunset with a view over the rooftops of the seventh district until October. You can round off the evening there with refreshing drinks such as limoncello or matcha sprizz and finger food à la champagne truffle liver cheese or classic Jour pastries with ham. Cheers!

Well, these two go together perfectly! And that's great news, especially for our listening pleasure. For the musical stars Lukas Perman and Missy May are sharing the stage tonight as part of the Summer Rhapsody. All this open-air and in the feudal ambience of the Palais Liechtenstein – definitely a dignified start to the new week!

Power Boot Camp
Now it's time to get down to business! In view of the murderous heat, you might tell yourself: sport’s killing you. But what can you do. The bikini body won’t shape itself. So off we go to the Power Boot Camp in the Stadtpark, where your inner couch potato doesn't stand a chance with all this US military style! His opponents: dumbbells, suspension trainers, kettlebells, hammers, tyres and bands. The training is done in a circuit and thankfully not alone. So the hope remains that the motivation of the others will spill over to you. Intermediate level. Book a free trial week!

Anna Mabo
Today, you can look forward to a roaring yet sensitive sound epics as Anna Mabo will make the stage at the Theater am Spittelberg shake, together with the band “Die Buben”. After “Die Oma hat die Susi so geliebt” and “Notre Dame”, the singer-songwriter will perform songs from her third album “Danke, gut”. An album that really packs a punch – the band gives each song what it needs and presents some true musical literary bombs. At the same time, the songs are quiet, empathetic and uplifting, because “even the Terminator's heart hurts sometimes” ...

Hats by Anima, jewellery by Bana and Sakiba, fashion by Fridita, bags by Tin-G, accessories by Musterstudio – you can put together an entire outfit in this shop-turned-homage to craftsmanship. am roan
What an idyllic spot for poetic moments: The former old-fashioned excursion inn up in the Vienna Woods was taken over in summer 2023, completely renovated and transformed with great taste into probably the most beautiful excursion destination in Vienna. They serve great, modern Viennese cuisine (wild boar spring rolls!) with a strong vegetarian touch. There are old oak trees in the garden and the view of Vienna from the terrace is simply stunning. You're really close to heaven here. What's more – and this is not to be underestimated – the location is the perfect address for heat refugees fleeing from the city centre.
